David Gambacorta
Writer of stories and whatnot

David Gambacorta is a writer-at-large at the Philadelphia Inquirer. He has also written for Esquire, The Baffler, Longreads and The Marshall Project.


He previously worked as a senior reporter at Philadelphia Magazine, and as a staff writer at the Philadelphia Daily News. In 2015, he was a fellow at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.

 
His work has been recognized with awards for investigative reporting, distinguished writing and enterprise reporting from a number of organizations, including the Pennsylvania Associated Press Managing Editors and the Society of Professional Journalists. He was a National City and Regional Magazine Award finalist in 2016.
 
He survives on a steady diet of coffee and bagels.
